America eBay Fee For Selling
eBay’s fees are calculated based on whether you own a store. If you own a store, costs will vary based on your listed item category.
On top of that, eBay also rewards sellers with a feature called Top Rated Seller, which provides a 20% 10% discount off your final fee (except for some categories).

Sometimes the Top Rated Seller discount comes off at the end of the month when you receive your eBay invoice. So be patient 🙂
There is a maximum final value fee cap per item sold (not shown in the calculator). It varies depending on the category of the item and your store type.

eBay Managed Payments fees are 2.7% + $0.25 of the total selling price. This fee is calculated before eBay fees.
There is no difference for international transactions.

Starting from November 2019, eBay began collecting sales tax when you sell to buyers based in the US. Sales tax is collected on top of your sold price and will not affect your profit. Since the sales tax is constantly changing and varies from state to state, we just list an optional ‘Sales Tax’ field above, which you can input any percentage that applies to you.
eBay fee excludes sales tax, but Managed Payments fee includes sales tax.
Each state charges a different sales tax which might also apply to your shipping & handling charges (yes, it’s very confusing). Taxjar has a pretty good table to explain all these. They also show you how to set the sales tax on eBay. In some states, sales tax does not include shipping & handling charges.

eBay Promoted Listings
eBay’s Promoted Listings will increase impressions of your listings to more customers and potentially get more sales. You can choose your ad rate, which will determine the fee charged.
The ad rate is calculated based on the percentage of the total sale amount (including postage charged and tax). You will only be charged when a buyer clicks on the promoted listing and purchases it within 30 days.
You can set the ad rate anywhere between 1% to 20% with an increment of 0.1%.
